Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers about who we are, how our guides work, and how updates work.

What is FamilyResourcePath?

FamilyResourcePath is an independent informational website. We publish plain-language guides about family support, money and savings, housing, education, careers, food, and insurance, plus a few simple planning tools.

Are you a government agency?

No. We are not a government agency and are not affiliated with or endorsed by any government organization. We explain how programs generally work and point you to the official sources that run them.

Can you tell me if I am eligible for a program?

No. Eligibility is decided only by the organization that administers each program. Our guides explain what programs generally look at and where to check, but the program itself makes the decision.

Do you charge for anything?

No. Reading our guides and using our tools is free, and you never need to sign up to use them. Be cautious of anyone who asks for a fee to help you apply for a public program. Many official programs offer free application help.

Do you help people apply for programs?

We do not take or submit applications. Each guide links to the agency or organization that does, and many communities offer free help by calling or texting 211.

How often are guides updated?

We review guides regularly and update them when programs or details change. Each guide shows the date it was last updated. If something looks out of date, please contact us.

What will I receive if I sign up for updates?

Email subscribers get notes about new guides and savings ideas. If you choose text updates, you pick informational messages (sign-up confirmations, preference changes, new-guide alerts), promotional messages (seasonal reminders, new tools, featured guides), or both.

How do I stop text messages?

Reply STOP to any message. You will get one confirmation and then no further messages. Reply HELP for help, or email us.

Do you share or sell my information?

No. We do not sell your information, and we never share your mobile number or text opt-in data with third parties or affiliates for marketing. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Is signing up required to use the site?

No. Every guide, checklist, and tool on the site is available without signing up. Updates are completely optional.
